Hamilton Heights Christian Academy is a wonderful alternative to the large, loud and less personal public and private high schools. With normally less than 100 students, each student truly develops a sense of “family” with their classmates and receives the personal attention and interest of all faculty and staff members. We are the “small school alternative” and provide an environment of acceptance and assistance to all of our students.
HHCA students will be exposed to international students from a wide variety of countries, ethnicities, cultures, languages and religions. In some ways it’s like a little United Nations in which everyone works together and get along. Students graduate HHCA with a much broader worldview and a better global citizen.
As a Christian school, we not only take an interest in our student’s academic progress, but we truly care about their spiritual, emotional and mental health. High school can be a challenging place for some and all students have access to staff and faculty 24-hours a day, 365 days a year to help them with both school and personal issues.
We have a closed campus located within a church building. Doors are locked and student safety is and will always be a primary concern. All staff, faculty and adult volunteers submit to and must pass an extensive State and Federal background check.
The school offers a variety of clubs and off-campus activates that help students to develop friends, interests and leadership abilities. Field trips are both educational and fun.
Students attend chapel service once a week and on significant Christian holidays. Chapel services are let by guest pastors, youth pastors and faculty members.
Many of our international students live with American families as part of our home stay program. This allows the students to improve their English skills, adjust culturally, have the caring and support of a Christian family and helps to avoid many of the challenges of being so far away from home and loved ones. Student normally have a private bedroom, shared bathroom, internet, a quiet study area, use of the kitchen and other facilities. Most host families prepare breakfast and dinner for the students and arrange for or provided transportation to and from school. Please “Contact Us” if you would like information on becoming a host family. Host families receive a stipend.
