Principal

Jason joined the Hamilton Heights faculty in 2009. He received his B.A. from Bryan College. Jason has served as Principal, Assistant Principal, and Science Department Head during his time at Hamilton Heights. He has taught all core Science courses, Financial Peace, PE, College & Career Prep, and Bible History courses.

Mabel Rankin

Mabel Rankin
Cultural and Language Department Head

Mabel joined the Hamilton Heights faculty in 2019. She is originally from Cuba. She received her B.A. in Socio-Cultural Studies and Teaching Spanish as a Second Language. She received her M.Ed. from the University of Havana. She has taught for 13+ years in multiple different countries, teaching cultural history courses, ESL, and Spanish. Mabel currently teaches World History and Geography, US History, and Spanish 1-2 courses.

Tony Williams

Tony Williams
Director of Athletics

Tony Joined Hamilton Heights Christian Academy in 2017. He moved to Chattanooga in 2011, earning his B.S. in Business Administration-Accounting from The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga.

As Director of Athletics, he is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the Hawk’s day-to-day operations, including but not limited to – facility operations, scheduling, travel planning, player relations, budgeting, marketing, and more.

Tony lives in Hixson, TN with his wife Hillacy, and their 3 sons. Tony is an avid sports fan and loves to spend time on the water, either on the lake fishing or in the Caribbean on a cruise ship. Tony and his family have been a host family for international students for more than 5 years.

Stephen Cook

Stephen Cook
Head Boys Basketball Coach

Coach Cook is in his 4th year as the Head Boys Basketball Coach of the Hawks. Coach Cook earned his B.S. from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga.

As Head Coach of the Hawks, Coach Cook has led his teams to a combined 71-42 record and Back-to-Back NACA National Championship Titles (2023, 2024). In his 4 years as head coach, 21 student-athletes have earned scholarships to play college basketball at a number of different levels (NCAA Division 1 & 2, NAIA, NJCAA, NCCAA) and multiple players have gone on to pursue their professional basketball careers.

Before Hamilton Heights, Coach Cook spent several years coaching as an assistant at Brainerd High School, Chattanooga State Community College, and Life University (Marietta, GA). Coach Cook spent 5 years coaching on the summer circuit as the Head Coach of Team NLP-TN, where he led his team to the AAU 17U National Championship in 2017, and Head Coach of EAB TN 3SSB.

Melvin Williams

Head Girls Basketball Coach

Coach Williams joined Hamilton Heights as the Head Girls Basketball Coach in 2023. 

Prior to HHCA Coach Williams had spent nearly 25 years coaching high-level men’s and women’s basketball at the High school, JUCO, and NCAA Division 1 Levels.

After graduating from high school, Williams began a career with the U.S. Navy where he was a four-year letter winner for the basketball team. He was tabbed to the All-Tournament team in 1985.

He officially began his coaching career in 1992 on the high school level in Georgia under Hall of Fame coach Lawanza Crutcher.

A graduate of Middle Tennessee State University, Williams earned his bachelor’s degree in engineering technology. He is married to Gale Williams and they have one daughter, Lauren.  Lauren is an Alumni (’17) of Hamilton Heights and was a member of the Lady Hawks Basketball team during her time at HHCA.

Sabrina Hickman

Head Volleyball Coach

Sabrina “Coach H” Hickman joined Hamilton Heights as the Head Volleyball Coach in 2023.

Prior to HHCA, Sabrina served as the Assistant Volleyball coach at East Ridge High School. 

Sabrina has 2 Daughters who attended Hamilton Heights and played volleyball and Basketball for the Lady Hawks.
